A Model of The CMS of 2025: Edmodo

In order to sustain the vision that educators will act as model "connectors" an online Classroom Management Systems (CMS) must be created for teachers with all levels of technological backgrounds. The CMS of 2025 must be free, cloud based, user friendly and constantly evolving. As the needs of the students continually come into focus, the CMS must grow to meet these needs. The user friendly nature will benefit all sides of the educational triangle (teachers, students and parents). While many educators are willing to put their hard-earned cash back into their classroom activities, a CMS that is not free will not be sustainable. As the teacher continues to add content to their CMS, they must know that this resource will not be lost to them due to funding issues. This allows the educator to put time and energy into the resources devoid of hesitation or need to "back up" information.

One resource that meets the needs of the 2025 CMS is Edmodo. Launched in September of 2008, founders Nicolas Borg and Jeff O'Hara have allowed the site to remain free and grow from a microbloging platform to a safe social networking site focused on educational content. In addition to classroom implications, Edmodo has also created resources for training educators, students and parents. As stated in the above section, this team acknowledges the need for continued, flexible, ubiquitous education for teachers. Edmodo offers free training materials that meets this team's vision for 2025.
